We Grew A Few Feet!

As wonderful as it might be to grow an extra hand, that's not exactly what we're talking about. But we are talking "feet"!

Spring is a season of growth, and we've grown as well! We're excited to announce we've just added an additional 1500 square feet of new adjoining space at our current location! Come check it out on Saturday (10am-4pm) and Sunday (10am to 3pm) during our regular March opening ( March 7, 8, 9 & 10th: Thursday 6 PM - 9 PM, Friday  9 AM - 4 PM, Saturday  9 AM - 4 PM & Sunday  10 AM - 4 PM)  when we'll host an indoor "Parking Lot Sale". For our parking lot sale we will be taking mostly cash and checks (some vendors do have credit card capability). You'll find lots of furniture, home decor, Parisian gift ideas and so much more!

We're still in the same location at 535 Leisure Street, but we now have this additional warehouse space for renting out space to vendors, and to hold creative classes!

Meet Cece Caldwell In May!

Come and learn some fun, fast and easy CeCe Caldwell Paint applications and help the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation at the same time! You'll love using this paint to transform any piece of furniture or home decor item and turn it from Trash to Treasure! Learn crackling, foils, distressing, plaster effects (and more!) from our resident expert Karen Berg, Shelly from Shizzle Design and one of our Northern California distributors! This paint is sweeping the nation as it is made in the USA, all "green", no prep, easy to use and in recyclable containers too! 

This is a fundraiser for the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation, a charity near and dear to our hearts, as our shop Managers' daughter suffers from this debilitating disease.  CeCe Caldwell herself is so passionate about giving back to the community that we are excited to announce that she will be joining us for this fantastic event! So come and meet the woman behind this fantastic paint!

This Event will be on May 4th, 2013  from 9:30 AM until 4:30 PM at the Paris Flea Market's new, additional warehouse (opening in March) at Paris Flea Market 535 Leisure St. Livermore CA, 94551

 Cost $175.  Tax Deductible

Time For Inspiration!

We love it when our customers inspire us! We got this note from 
Jackie Irby, who came to shop at Paris Flea Market during our 
January opening, and just had to share what she wrote!

Hi Ladies!
 
First I must tell you how much fun my daughter and 

I have visiting your store each and every month. 

We're usually in the store at least an hour or more,

and drag ourselves back to the car and load up. Each

and every one of you are friendly and very helpful.  

On Jan 9, I had a mission - to find a pair of black 

shutters and unusual clock items to hang on the shutters,

whose theme is "time".  Well, I scored big time and 

scooped up anything that would go with that subject matter.

It was fun, frustrating, exhilarating and exciting to

work on (the project). I'm going to paint on the top 

(on the wall) "When was the last time you did something 

for the first time?". I am going be very anxious to hear

your feedback. I get inspiration  and energy when I go 

to your store, and it entices me to start another project.

Of course you will be seeing my daughter and I again next

time - and perhaps a car with a bigger trunk!

2012 Rewind & a Shopping Spree Winner!

2012 is just a few days from being gone forever (can you believe it?) so let's take a step back to where it all began. 

2012 will be the year we remember as when we got our first shipment of Cece Caldwell's Paint!

It was the year of a Ladies Shopping Trip to France!

It was a year full of showing our wares (and our smiling faces!) at Antique Fairs throughout Northern California,

Chalk It Up to Before & After

If you've been to Paris Flea Market in Livermore, you've already seen the gorgeous furniture we have painted with our CeCe Caldwell's Chalk & Clay Paints, which we sell at the store.

We Bid You Adieu ~ A Peek Into Last Month's Shopping Cart

Have you ever snuck a peek at what the person next to you in the check-out line has in their cart? "What did they get? How much did they pay for it? And where did they find it because I want one too!" is what goes through our minds!

It's a lot like that at Paris Flea Market during the sale: people are always so curious as to what's been bought and is heading out the door. Well, we know it's not quite the same, but in the interest of quenching your curiosity, we thought we'd show you what were the most popular and fasted-selling items for our October opening. (You can click on the photos to see them larger).

This gorgeous buffet/sideboard with an aged-to-perfection finish was one of the first things we waved goodbye to early on during the sale.  We're not sure if it'll be used for its intended purpose of storing china, or not, since there are so many other ways to use it! It's easy to picture it in your home office to house your scanner, printer and CPU. Or in the family room, under the wall mount TV and all the media equipment stashed inside its beautiful exterior! Wait, stop your dreaming! It was priced at $195.00 and now it's gone!

Another sideboard with an all together different look; part apothecary cabinet, part kitchen island! We love the painted and natural wood treatment on it because it gave it a twist on a traditional look, making it an easy piece to add to almost any style home. $195.00 took all the parts of it right out the door!










                                                                  

        

       

When's the last time you had a moment to yourself? Believe me, you'd make the time to sneak away to a cozy little nook if this Louis XVI chair was waiting for you there!  We loved the painted wood frame with layers of green and cream, to say nothing of the gorgeous neutral fabric and trim! It's sitting pretty at its new home after checking out at $185.

All dressed up and somewhere to go! Here's a darling little dresser, painted a soft blue/green and hand waxed to give it an aged finished, but it's really not too old. We find lots of these pieces, but they are made of a solid wood that's not too much in demand anymore. So we give them a makeover that's just right for today's look! With a flirty scalloped skirt, and a price of $165, it caught someones eye and home it went!

Coffee, tea or table? Serve yourself at this fabulous table with a oh la la fleur di lis hand painted smack dab in the center. It's such a great size, and there's an extra shelf underneath for that overgrown magazine collection of yours.  $159 made it an easy decision for one of our smart customers.

And for our last adieu, we watched this beautiful, curved front, five drawer dresser head 'round the corner home just before we flipped the "closed" sign on Sunday. We thought $245 was a great investment on a dresser built to last forever and will look elegant doing it!

Witch Hat Do You Like Best?

Things got a little scary during our October 4 - 7th opening at Paris Flea Market. And by "a little" I mean we had some small participants in our annual $100 prize Witch Hat Contest! They were accompanied by their mom, Louise Jones, who also had a lovely entry into the contest:

Next, our door was darkened by Nancy Thomas, shown below, who came in with the smallest witch hat entry on record!!! How can you choose between them all???

  But, we knew we were looking at the winner when we saw this number fly in later:

 

How can you not be moved to shrieks and applause when you see the skeletons looking over the brim and the spinning witch on high, commanding attention?!?!?!?!
